About

Igor Olshansky is a former NFL defensive tackle and the founder of Gridiron Guardian Corporation.

Born in Ukraine and raised in a family that valued resilience and hard work, Igor immigrated to the United States as a teenager with little more than determination and a dream. He fell in love with American football, earned a scholarship to the University of Oregon, and was a second-round draft pick of the San Diego Chargers in 2004. Across a nine-year NFL career with the Chargers, Dallas Cowboys, and Miami Dolphins, he played in 124 games, started over 100, recorded more than 300 tackles, and built a reputation as one of the most relentless players on the field.

After retiring, Igor turned to the next generation. Drawing on his own journey — from a newcomer learning the game to an NFL veteran — he founded Gridiron Guardian to give young athletes the training, mentorship, and safe environment he wishes he'd had. With a deep background in strength, conditioning, and martial arts, he designs programs that build stronger bodies and stronger character: discipline, confidence, leadership, and mental toughness.

“I've been the kid who had to fight for every opportunity,” Igor says. “If I can help even one young athlete believe in themselves the way a few coaches once believed in me, then everything I went through was worth it.”

That's the heart of Gridiron Guardian — a charity built to open doors for kids who are hungry, talented, and ready to prove they belong, regardless of what they can pay.
